·         Go over itinerary

·         Go over some pointers/advice for the trip

o   The church where we will stay Saturday night in Jacksonville has dorms for us to sleep in

o   Please bring linens that you won’t mind throwing away at the end of the trip if you feel compelled to or you can bring a sleeping bag---these will be used while staying at the church and at the cabins in Fort Lauderdale

o   There will be only one male shower and one female shower at the church so it has been asked that no one takes a shower that night for the following reasons:

§  there have been countless other students there before us so hygiene wise it may not be a good idea

§  there would be no hot water after the first two or three showers

§  38 people with only two showers would take FOREVER

o   Since the church has agreed to let us stay there on such short notice for FREE they have asked for a donation, so if everyone could bring $4 to donate to the church it would be greatly appreciated

o   If you don’t want your hair getting paint in it then you should bring a hat/bandana

o   EVERYONE MUST BRING CLOSED TOE SHOES FOR WORKING IN!!!!!!! Something like tennis shoes or work boots which can be purchased at walmart. No flip flops, flats, Keds, Toms, etc…

o   Bring work gloves if you have any as we are not sure the work site will be equipped with enough for everyone, but know that it will not be the end of the world if you don’t have any.

o   BRING SUNSCREEN!!

o   Remember that we have to be at the vans at 7:15am

o   During the work week our curfew will be 12am. The area where we will be staying is gated. At a certain time we will need a key.

o   Bring towels because there probably won’t be any at the places where we are staying

We took a vote at the meeting and decided on the following: balloon paintball fight/day glow and/or foam pit/cubes/foam volleyball. These concepts can be explained at future meetings.
